The multi-award winning designer behind the Basilica Couture label, Ms Panatou, has been a pioneer in the Australian bridal fashion industry for over 30 years. Her Greek heritage inspired her to use the name “Basilica”, the Greek word meaning queen, for her distinguished label and salon. She was one of the first Australian designers to exhibit her bridal collection at the New York Couture Fashion Week held at the Waldorf Astoria, in Manhattan in 2006 and the first Australian designer to be asked to exhibit at the Fiera Milano, Italy in 2008.

At her chic Drummoyne salon, she not only offers her own tailor made signature bridal and evening gowns that are created in her Sydney workrooms, but she also showcases imported wedding, bridesmaids and evening gowns, shoes, jewellery and accessories from some of the world’s most famous labels, Badgley Mischka, Mark & James, Anne Barge, Pronuptia Paris and Phillipe Swann, who were selected based on their couture quality and commitment to artistic excellence. Ms Panatou has worked closely with these designers and with their assistance has hand picked each gown to ensure that she has created a unique and varied collection for Australian brides to choose from. The imported collections, exclusive only to our salon are ready to wear and are ordered once we take your measurements, then any necessary modifications and adjustments are done in our salon by our experienced seamstresses.

From the label synonymous with glamorous evening and bridal gowns, Badgley Mischka captures their essence of sophistication, romance and a nod to vintage Hollywood glamour in their "Badgley Mischka Bridesmaids" collection, that offer a more elegant, look than the traditional bridesmaid dress. They bring a true luxury designer brand to a category that has a void of luxury designer name and a wedding would not be complete without a beautifully dressed bridal party. The sample gowns of their bridesmaids collection are on show at the Basilica Couture salon and are offered in 10 -12 colour options and in sizes from 6 to 26 with a price range from $390 to $550. Book an appointment with Basilica Couture to select the perfect Badgley Mischka Bridesmaids dress and colour that would compliment your wedding gown and the style of your wedding. Orders for these gowns take up to 12 weeks to be made and delivered, but can be made sooner with a rush fee. Interstate brides and bridesmaids are welcome to request an order form, measurement and colour charts and they can see all of the photos of the bridesmaids collection at the designers' website link.

Consultations times are by appointment only and usually 1 - 1 ½ hours in duration, so that our clients are personally attended to ensuring that they receive our undivided attention with our salon entirely devoted to them and their bridal party. We work along side our clients to select the gowns to suit their style, figure and personality. There is no charge for an appointment but we do require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or another appointment will not be offered and we also ask that each bride is only accompanied by a maximum of 2 people unless previously arranged with us.
